I picked Hammock Gear because, shocking as it may be, all those hikers constantly recommending them weren’t just making noise. The brand has a solid, no-drama reputation in the camping groups I follow, and after looking into them, I can see why. Nothing super flashy or trying too hard, which is refreshing. Just reliable gear from a company people actually trust. Weirdly enough, consistency still matters.

I loved being able to choose the exact size, colors, and little options I wanted. It made the whole hammock setup feel like it was actually made for me. i only blame myself for not ordering one sooner.

It’s comfortable overall, so I liked it at first. But after just a few trips, the stitching started looking worn and rough. I get that travel gear gets tossed around, but it feels like careless handling really showed on this one faster than I expected.

For what I paid, this gear is way better than I expected. It’s not some ultra-fancy top-shelf stuff, but it definitely gets the job done and feels like a great deal. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

Overall, I had a solid experience with Hammock Gear. I had a question about my order and when they replied, it actually felt like a real person answered me, not just some canned response. My brain usually does the quick mental shortcut of “slow reply = bad service,” but that wasn’t really the case here.

The only reason I’d go with 4 stars instead of 5 is that it took a bit longer to hear back than I expected. Once they did respond, they were friendly, clear, and helped me get it sorted out, so it wasn’t a big issue in the end.

I used my Hammock Gear setup on a windy night and was surprised by how well it cut down the gusts. I’ll admit, after I paid I had that little bit of doubt like, “Did I just spend money on something that won’t really make a difference?” But once I was out there, it proved itself fast. I slept way better than I expected and stayed much more comfortable than I thought I would. Good stuff.

The clips are simple, the stitching is nice and tight, and the footbox actually does what it’s supposed to do, which apparently isn’t always a given. It also packs down easily, so that’s one less thing to wrestle with at camp. You can tell someone who’s actually spent a night outside had a say in this, which is refreshing

I had to do a warranty return and expected it to be a hassle, but it ended up being really simple. I reached out to support, explained what was going on, and they took care of everything quickly. Super friendly and easy to deal with.

i picked up an underquilt from Hammock Gear and once I finally got it dialed in, it was comfortable. first night was kind of a hassle though, and I definitely noticed a few cold spots until I messed with the fit a bit.

for the price, I guess I expected it to feel a little easier and softer right out of the box. it’s not bad by any means, just wasn’t quite as cozy as I was hoping.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it kept me warm the whole night, even with the cold wind picking up. I kept thinking I’d start feeling a chill at some point, but nope, I stayed cozy the entire time.
